According to this article from Foxnews.com, Microsoft Excel 2007 has been discovered to have difficulty multiplying and displaying numbers whose product is either 65,535 or 65,536 (such as 77.1 x 850, or 20.4 x 3212.5), displaying 100,000 as the product instead. Microsoft programmers are working hard to fix the problem, of course.
Mathematicians and computer programmers will find it interesting that 65,536 is equal to 2 to the 16th power, and (while this will probably seem esoteric to some) the number is significant in binary computer code.
